i get this question ALL the time,
where do i shop when i’m in my 30s??
gals, you are over 30, but you are not dead!
i get so confused as to why women think that once they hit their 30s (or become a mom), they have to sacrifice any sense of style. well i am here today to tell you that just bc you’re over 30 or toting around 3 kids, it surely does NOT mean you cannot look cute! heck, i’m 37, have two boys and i still take the time to look and feel good!
so today i’m sharing with you my five favorite stores to shop at for my old behind and what my fave buys are from each store!
urban outfitters
ok so urban…
they bring back all these old styles that make me feel like i’ve quantum leaped back into my middle school days so its kind of mind boggling while perusing the store BUT there are a few things that are MUST HAVES from urban, even for a mom in her late thirties!
must buys: thermals, tees, cardigans, sunnies
american eagle
yes, you may be surrounded by 14yr old girls in the shortest shorts you’ll ever see in your life, but there are some hidden gems at american eagle for the over-30 gal! don’t forget to check out aerie as well for supersoft loungewear too
must buys: jeans, tees, aerie
free people
in the last few years, i’ve become sick over how many cheap white tanks and tees i’ve bought that stretch out, shrink up or yellow so i made the decision to buy quality basics that will last much longer. free people has the BEST tees and thermals and the cutest little bralettes to jazz ’em up!
must buys: tees, thermals, bralettes, sweaters, cardigans, shoes
target
i mean, you’re at target every week blowing money likes its going out of style, so why wouldn’t an over-30 gal/mom shop here?!! between who what wear, their newest lines universal thread and a new day and let’s not forget the shoe section killin’ it too, target is a go-to spot for me!

nordstrom
i mean, this wouldn’t be a reliable source of where to shop if i didn’t mention nordstrom. this is your one stop shop gals. you want it, they’ve got it! you can grab something trendy in the bp section, shop topshop, madewell and j.crew all in one place, the shoe selection is bananas and their cafe and customer service just seals the deal on a great shopping experience.
i would like to also call out a common misconception of nordstrom: not everything is ridiculously expensive.
if you want to shop high-end designers, thats available, but there are MANY affordable, well-made lines too.
must buys: pretty much everything plus lunch!
honorable mention
old navy
old navy is hit or miss for me. some seasons i love every.single.thing. they have and others, i’m meh!
loft
same as old navy, sometimes i love loft, sometimes i don’t. they flip flop between being on trend without being too old lady-ish and sometimes they just go all out dowdy and weird.
shopbop
i hit up shopbop for their sales on some of my favorite designers including my levis that i literally have to force myself not to wear everyday.
h&m
as with some of the other honorable mentions, sometimes i love everything in h&m, others not so much. i shop here for trendier pieces on the cheap.
zara
zara is my fave for on trend, but unique pieces that you won’t see anywhere else. one rule of shopping at zara: buy it the first time you see it bc it won’t be there the next day!
anthropologie
another hit or miss for me, but i can usually find a few pieces each season that i absolutely love in anthro, esp dresses for different occasions. this is another spot that you might wanna grab it bc hot items sell quick! ps: this is the BEST store for birthday gifts! my go-to’s are these candles and $5 mugs with a starbucks gift card 🙂
and lastly…
