As our days seem to have a little extra room at this time, I decided to share some books I’ve read over the past six months that really made an impact for me or were incredible page turners!  If you know my Morning Routine, then you know I love to start my day with a coffee and a few chapters of whatever I’m currently reading.  It helps set the tone for the day, which I think we could all use now more than ever, am I right?!!!

Untamed by Glennon Doyle : After hearing numerous people rave about this book, I decided to dive in.  Glennon tackles so many topics in this book, many of which most of us women struggle with, at least I know I do.  I love her honesty, compassion and unapologetic way of sharing who she is, what she’s gone through and ways to work through it.  I HIGHLY recommend this book!

Becoming by Michelle Obama : I am a HUGE Michelle Obama fan.  I admire her confidence, humility, tenacity and compassion for everyone.  I also love her friendship with George W.  I was excited to jump into this one and read it through our travels to France.  I couldn’t wait to get on another train or plane so I could learn more and more about her upbringing, walk along with her through college and her early career, identify with her struggles of balancing being a woman, wife, mother and more, as well as her struggles of being a black woman in a position of power in America.  I recommend that everyone read this, regardless of your political affiliation.

Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo : I don’t say this lightly, This Book Changed My Life.  There were days that I sobbed while reading it.  Marie hits every nail right on the head and she’s from Jersey so she won me over from the beginning!  She tackles all the things that hold us back, makes YOU do the work which many books along this line don’t do and helps push through to a better you!  I am obsessed with everything Marie Forleo does after reading this and her dance routines are legit!  This book is my #1 recommendation from this list!

The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday : After hearing Lauryn from The Skinny Confidential rave about this book and listening to their podcasts with Ryan Holiday, I grabbed this one!  I like learning about different ways of thinking and this book is very interesting!  There’s a page for each day of the year with a meditation.  I find it really interesting how some days the meditation lines up with something I’m feeling or currently happening in our world.  I do one each morning along with reading a chapter or two of another book and it just starts my day really focused and centered.

Girl on Fire by Carol Alwill Leyba : I was really surprised by how much I loved this book.  I honestly thought it was going to be just another Girl Wash Your Face, but there is so much incredible content in this book.  I know it may seem to be focused on female entrepreneurs but this book is for anyone!  It’s one of those books where you sit there and think, it’s not JUST me!

Irresistible by Andy Stanley : This is a faith-based book about Jesus.  Who he was, what he stood for and all the things religion teaches you that don’t line up!  I felt SO understood after reading this book bc some of y’all Christians are crazy!  I think any person (not just those who believe in Jesus) should read this book to get a better idea of the real Jesus, not the convoluted version society has made him out to be.

Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid : Oh my goodness, THIS BOOK!  First of all, I read it in ONE DAY.  I’m not usually a fiction kinda gal, so its gotta be good and WOW.  I love the style in which it is written, it feeds my longing to have lived in the 70s and its rumored to be loosely based on Fleetwood Mac.  Even better?  Its being turned into a Hulu series!!! Cannot wait!

5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins : I read this book awhile back, but included it bc I still use its principles today.  There are things that I’m terrified of, like speaking on stage, and every time I use the 5-Second Rule, I just do it and I don’t die!  Can you imagine?  Mel Robbins is all about telling your fear to go somewhere and push through it with her method.  This is a must for all women bc I know each one of us has fear holding us back from at least one thing in our lives.

I hope you’re able to find some good reading material with this list!  From what I’ve seen, you can get most of these books within a few days!  If you do read any of them, let me know what you think!
