If you follow me on Instagram then you’re used to me sharing little passages from my current reads in the morning.  If not, well then you’re missing out.  I read a LOT and the funny thing is, I never was a big reader until the last few years.  For me, there’s nothing better than reading a chapter of a book with my coffee in the morning while the house is quiet and everyone is still sleeping.  I shared some books that I read during quarantine HERE and since I’ve knocked a few more off my list, I figured I’d give you guys an update bc I have read some BOMB books since then!

Moms Summer Reading List

The Gift of Forgiveness by Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt |  I had heard Katherine on The Skinny Confidential Podcast and immediately ordered her book!  Forgiveness is something that everyone can learn more about and I love Katherine’s approach in this book.  She interviews a variety of people who have experienced some traumatic events (from Pablo Escobar’s son to the mother of one of the Columbine shooters) and how they learned to forgive and heal.  This was a great read for me, I highly recommend it!

15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John Maxwell | Ok, this book.  I shared this almost everyday bc its full of such incredible information!  I can honestly say, this book has had a huge impact in my life.  From personal growth to business growth and everything in between, this is a MUST read – Mike agrees too.  John Maxwell is brilliant and expect to see me reading every other book he’s written.

Tribes by Seth Godin | This is another one that Mike and I read together and from a leadership standpoint, it’s full of great information.  I also enjoyed the format in which he wrote this book.

Mindset by Carol S. Dweck | This book discusses fixed vs. growth mindsets in all areas of life from personally to parenting to teaching to leading and more.  I have put so much of what I learned in this book into practice, especially as a mom.  HIGHLY recommend!

The Charisma Myth by Olivia Fox Cabane |  Mike and I read this together after John Maxwell mentioned it in his book that I mentioned above.  Its based around the premise that charisma is something you can learn, not something you’re born with.  I found it really interesting and have been putting some of the steps outlined into action.  I think everyone can learn a little from this book!

How To Be An Anti-Racist by Ibram X Kendi |  I am currently about halfway through this book and I’d say I learned more in the first half of this book than I ever learned in school.  It took awhile for me to get this as it was on backorder for awhile, but I highly encourage everyone to read this.  (I linked this up thru Ibram’s site instead of one of my affiliate links bc I would love to see the proceeds from anyone purchasing this thru this blog post to go back into the Black community)

So there you go, what I’ve been reading lately!  Have you read any of these?  Do you have any books you’ve read lately that everyone needs to know about??  Share em in the comments below! xo
