Summer is my fave season of the year bc we practically live down the shore so I feel like I’m a pro when it comes to affordable beach wear. I like feeling cute, but my bathing suits must be functional. Also, it’s gotta work for me whether we’re on the beach or out on the boat.
A good coverup is a necessity and this one is very affordable! You can button it up and wear it as a dress or a tunic, but I just love throwing it over my suit with my cutoffs.
As far as bathing suits, I bought these a few years ago and they are great quality and a great price! I live in this black one – I probably wear it too much! I love the cutout on the side and you can adjust it into a strapless top for while you’re laying out so you don’t get that one-shouldered tan line. (I got a small in this one)
This white one is also a great option – clearly I have a thing for one shouldered one piece bathing suits, huh? The ruching on this one is uber-flattering and the white is not see through when wet! (I went up two sizes in this one)
Cutoffs are an essential for me any summer, but they’re great to just throw on top of a bathing suit. I’m loving this pair bc they cover my butt and I love the distressing! (I sized up one in these)
I also bought these sandals last year and they still look brand new! You cannot beat the quality of these. I shared more about them HERE but they’re that good, I had to share them again in this roundup!
For accessories, I live in my straw hat! It’s very chic for summer and keeps the sun off my face. A cute pair of hoops can dress up your look if you need to run to dinner straight from the beach. I love the geometric shape of this pair and they’re super lightweight! Oh yeah and sunnies! How could I forget sunglasses?? I love this oversized pair, I have them in black and tortoise!
Lastly, you need a good cooler! I got this one for Mike for Father’s Day and we’ve used it SO much that we’ve definitely gotten our money’s worth in just this past year alone! We use it not only for the beach, boat or pool, we even bring it to our kids’ games and fill it up with drinks and snacks. It fits SO much and I love the backpack style so you’re not stuck lugging a big ol’ cooler around by hand!
So there you go, my affordable beach wear! You may have noticed that I left out sunscreen, but I’m going to be sharing some of my fave SPFs on the blog later this month! Until then, be sure to protect that beautiful skin of yours everyday!
