hey gals, happy friday! hope you’re having THE BEST week!
this week’s friday five starts… NOW!
best clothing buy
if you follow me on instagram, then you’ve seen these jeans probably more times than you should have. to say i wear them often is the understatement of the century.
they are high-waisted, fit like a glove and have just enough stretch to not feel like leggings, but also don’t feel like stiff as a board denim either. these fit TTS for me – i’m usually a 0/2 and the 26’s fit perfectly. they’re great casual or dressy and for under $100, they’re worth every single penny.
best beauty buy
i don’t know about you, but i feel like i could wash my face 50 times and still have a little mascara or eyeliner lingering on my eyes. enter this tula cleansing oil: not only does it moisturize my winter-dried out skin, but it gets every speck of makeup residue off!
oh and here’s a special treat for you:

just a little way to say thank you for following from me via my collaboration with tula!
fave read
for love and lemons cookbook //
as i mentioned in my first post of the year, i’ve been making a huge effort to cook more in the new year to not only save money and not waste all of the food i buy each week, but also to be healthier. i bought this cookbook last year and i’ve found myself reaching for it more and more lately. what i love about this cookbook is its arranged alphabetically by fruits and vegetables and shares a bunch of ways to prepare each one! gone are the plain old bowls of steamed broccoli and now we’re having sweet chili charred broccolini! so if you’re bored by your current produce selection and looking for new and healthy ways to serve them, this cookbook is TOTALLY for you!
fave meal
speaking of healthier eating, we’re trying to buckle down more with our eating (minus my daily can of coke and twice-weekly ice cream cones)! i stumbled upon melissa joulwan’s website “well fed” and have been loving her whole 30 weekly meal plans! (i pinned quite a few of them already, definitely check them out!) one recipe that the hubs and my boys are loooooving is the Italian Pork Roast. now, i understand that after watching this is us this past week, you may be terrified to leave your crockpot on overnight, but we went for it and all are safe! so, you could also start it first thing in the am and finish the day with a huge pot of amazing, juicy, well flavored pork to carry you thru the week. this was SO easy to prepare and the flavor… you guys, its bomb.com!
ps: if you wanna chat this is us and the bachelor, be sure to join in my facebook group!
fave deal
brightboxs //
i’ve been following merrick’s art for awhile and if you’ve never heard of her, you need to go check her out! she’s absolutely adorable, has the cutest style and her boys are SO cute! well a few weeks ago, she shared these brightboxs on her instagram story and i was like HOLD THE PHONE, THESE ARE SO CUTE!!! i immediately went over to their website for all the deets and absolutely love their welcome slogan:
“Surprises Rule! brighten their day with a little box”
so for $5, you can purchase a brightbox with your choice of either candy, earrings, socks, candles or bath bombs and then add a fun little candy treat. each box also comes with an adorable quote card (“you are loved” is my favorite) and you can add a personalized message – you can even send anonymous brightboxs! i just think these are such a fun idea for anyone needing a pick me up or as a little something special to say thank you or hello or whatever the message you’re trying to share for only $5!
so that’s this week’s friday five!
i hope you love them all as much as i do and be sure to subscribe to my blog (at the bottom or on the sidebar) so you never miss a post! xo
