I am on a long coat kick – specifically this plaid one that I bought a few years ago on clearance at Cotton On for….. wait for it…. TEN DOLLARS! I kid you not, I got it for ten freakin bucks! It was such a score and I’ve gotten so much wear out of it! Ok, back to long coats.
Long coats are very on trend, but can be intimidating to wear bc there’s a lot of assumptions that come along with them. Do I have to be tall to wear a long coat? Do I have to wear heels with a long coat? Aren’t long coats just for work wear? No, no and no! Forget all of the “rules” you might have thought revolve around long coats – or any clothing tbh – and jump on this trend y’all!
I personally love long coats bc I can throw one on over anything and I feel like it not only up-levels my look, but it also keeps my legs warm on colder days! Win! So I love throwing a long coat over a simple top and boots to dress it up some, over a dress or skirt and my favorite way to wear them is over a sweatsuit and sneakers – instant outfit upgrade! It gives such a chic, city vibe and I am HERE for it!
