Mac & Cheese

You cannot go wrong with Mac & Cheese. Its great for bbq’s, as winter comfort food and kids love it so that’s always a win! My boys request it often, along with chicken cutlets, so I’m sharing my Mac & Cheese recipe here with you today!

Mac and Cheese

Gooey, creamy and easy to make!

  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tbs dried ground mustard
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices american cheese
  • 2 tbs breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Cook pasta to package directions (al dente) and drain it. Pour into greased 13×9 dish and toss in 2tbs of butter. Set aside.

  3. Melt 1/4 cup of butter over medium heat.

  4. Stir in flour and whisk to combine.

  5. Add milk and heavy cream. Whisk while it thickens a tiny bit.

  6. Whisk in the seasonings and then stir in 1 1/2 cups of the cheddar, 1/2 cup of the mozzarella and the american cheese torn into pieces. Keep stirring until all of the cheese is melted.

  7. Pour cheese sauce over the pasta and stir to combine well. It will seem like there's too much sauce, but there's not, don't worry!

  8. Sprinkle the rest of the cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top. Sprinkle breadcrumbs and oregano on top of that.

  9. Bake for about 30 minutes – it should be bubbly and the cheese should be melted.
