fitting room diaries: american eagle

I surveyed my followers on Instagram and they all had a resounding YES to fitting room diaries posts making a comeback here so my first round are from american eagle.

yes, I know you’re surrounded by 15yr old girls in booty shorts while shopping there BUT there are some hidden gems here for us moms so I’m highlighting a few of them for you!

remember those urban thermals I wore nonstop all winter?
these tanks remind me of them so much, minus the long sleeves and the thermal, clearly.
anyways, they’re very soft, flowy, slightly longer in the back and I can see myself wearing them everyday. I’m wearing a small here but thinking the x-small fit me better to be honest – and this is coming from a gal who loves her some oversized tees!

so as you’re thinking to yourself, how in the world can those girls’ parents let them out of the house in those supershort shorts, you’re overlooking the amazing selection of jeans that american eagle has to offer! seriously 85% of my jeans are found here. this pair is high-waisted, stretchy and super distressed! I’m wearing a 2 in these and they should fit snug when you try them on bc they will stretch some as you wear ’em!

now these shorts, here’s my tip:
I size up in shorts bc I don’t want them supertight, I prefer a slouchy fit AND I find that if I size up, they’re longer so my mom butt isn’t hanging out of them. tmi?

speaking of those baseball games, you know when the sun goes down and it gets super chilly? well throw on this sweatshirt and you’re covered! its on sale and its bell sleeves are supercute! (wearing a small here)

I love me a good pair of mom jeans and these fit perfectly!
high-waisted, a tiny bit of stretch and lots of distressing – wearing a 2 here.
I could throw on a pair of strappy heels and grab a fun clutch like this one and have the perfect date night look!

ok so there’s a yes here and a no.

this top is simple and great for everyday, available in a few colors and super soft ! (wearing a small)

these shorts however, I just can’t gals. I sized up too! just too tight, too short and I feel like a hoochie in them. they may look great on other gals, but they’re not my preference for sure.
