American Eagle Fitting Room Diaries // February 2019

Well helllooooo! Back again with this week’s Fitting Room Diaries! I wanted to take a quick sec to thank you for all the love on last week’s edition! It was labor-intensive, but superfun to try out a different format, but you gals seemed to have loved it! After polling my Instagram followers, it was split 50/50 on which format you gals preferred, so I’m going to alternate between the two so everyone gets a little of what they love!

American Eagle has been a much-requested store for Fitting Room Diaries so I headed to my local store the other day in the midst of our moving chaos bc I had to hook my gals up! Well let me tell you, SO MUCH cute stuff at AE right now, so let’s get to it!

Ok so let’s get this out of the way real quick: my nails are a hot mess, but we’re moving this week and there’s legit no room in my schedule right now to go get them done. So for the sake of this try-on sesh, can we just pretend I have the best mani ever going on right now? k? thanks! xo

Ok now let’s chat about this outfit: there are so many things happening here that I just love!
ONE: This Slouchy Cardigan!
I love a cozy cardi and this rust-color is giving me all the feels for some reason! Its super soft, super cozy and will transition well from winter to spring! Not feelin’ this color? It also comes in cream – I just have WAY too many cream cardis so we went with the rust this time! I’m wearing an XS/S in this one and the fit is perfect!
TWO: This Tie-Front Tank!
I love thermals. I love tie-front tops. I love this top! This one comes in a few colors, but I grabbed ol’ faithful, gray – I mean, what will it NOT match?!! Wearing a small here and the fit is good and its not too low-cut either!
THREE: These Jeans!
Ok, I cannot find these jeans online yet, but as soon as I do, I will hook y’all up! I am having a major moment with light washed denim lately and I’m just totally feelin’ all of these colors together! These are a crop jegging and I’m wearing a 2 in these – my usual size in AE jeans!

I am a HUGE FAN of lightweight, high-waisted pants when the temps start to turn and these paperbag-waist pants fill that love for me! These come in a few different prints, but I obviously went with black and white! I’m wearing a small in these pants and have plenty of room in them, plus they have an elastic waistband!

This high-neck tank was quickly added to my cart bc its such a great basic tank for not only now, but also summer! It comes in a few colors and I’m wearing a small in this as well – these are also Buy One, Get One 50% Off!

While the temps are still cold in Jersey, I would throw a jean jacket, moto jacket or a chunky cardigan over this to account for the weather and then once it warms up, ditch the topper and add a cute sandal like these instead of the booties! Easy peasy look for work or weekend!

Same tank, but this time with some white jeans! Can we talk white jeans? Ok let’s! White jeans are my kryptonite! I have never been able to find a pair that I like to be honest with you – that’s why I never wear them! HOWEVER, I think this pair may have won me over! High-waisted, NOT see-through, the perfect distressing, a step hem and enough stretch that you’re not suffocating in them or looking like sausage casing, but not too much that they lose their shape! I’m wearing a 2 in these and the fit is great! Also, all AE jeans are currently Buy One, Get One 50% Off so these are a great pair to add to your cart!

Ok, we’re still ignoring the nails…. you may also be thinking, “WOW! Jeans without rips, who are you?!!!” I loved the utility/carpenter type pocket on this pair AND I do have to point out that they have a raw hem, so there is SOME distressing, I haven’t gone completely mad! haha! ok, back to the outfit! These jeans are very cute, your typical high-waisted jegging with some fun details! I’m wearing my usual 2 in these as well!

I collect plain white tees, anyone else?? This one is a great option to add to your white tee drawer – you know you have one! I’m wearing the small here, its not see-through and it has a cute scoop neck with a cuffed edge on the sleeve! PS: these are also Buy One, Get One 50% Off right now!

PS: Obsessed with this polka dot kimono, but its not online yet! As soon as it is, I’ll update with the link for you, but if you find it in-store, I’m wearing a Small for reference!

To compare with the tee sizing, I grabbed the same tee as above, but in camo and tried the medium this time! Honestly, I prefer the medium bc if you’ve been following along for awhile, I love an oversized feel to my tops and tees! This one is supersoft and a great camo option to add to your look!

Warning: Very Pale Legs Ahead

You know my love for mom jeans, so these new mom shorts were quickly added to my cart! I mean, let’s face it gals, I’m 38, I’m not getting any younger and I cannot wear the bootie huggers of my past anymore! I love these mom shorts bc they are high-waisted with some distressing but they’re not skin tight! I prefer these over a longer bermuda-type short (they look AWFUL on my 5’3″ frame) as they’re still short, but not inappropriate! I grabbed a 4 in these bc I usually size up at least one in shorts and I loved the fit!

We’re still ignoring my uber pale legs, k?

Another tie-front top that I loved bc the obsession is real and this short-sleeved version also comes in a few colors and is a great transitional top for your wardrobe! I’m wearing a small in this top for your reference.

Surprising to some of you, this might be my fave look from the whole post – except for the ghostly white legs that goes with it! This time, I’m rockin’ the black mom shorts and these are def my favorite pair of them! They’re a faded black with a little distressing and will go with pretty much any look! I’m wearing a 4 in this pair as well! I topped it off with this adorable cream top! The flutter sleeves and cute buttons counteract the edginess of the shorts and I am HERE for it! I’m wearing a small in this top as well!
