well i haven’t done one of these in awhile and actually had about an hour to myself the other day, so i ventured into our target for a fitting room diaries sesh! ps: my target is FINALLY getting a starbucks (not sure why it took so long! we don’t live in the sticks) and i’m pretty sure i let out the largest squeal when i saw the sign for it. little things gals. also, basic to the max.
so there’s this new line at target called universal thread and i am smitten. think madewell on the cheap. so many fabulous neutrals in the simplest silhouettes that you will be able to rock year round with everything in your closet.
sounds amazing, right? it is.
so here’s my fitting room diaries featuring universal thread:
totally LOVING this jacket! it reminds me of my uber-embellished zara one, just without all of the embellishments 😉 i loved the cropped bodice and the extra military accents are so cute! i’m wearing an XS here. the tee underneath is lightweight and soft, perfect for everyday wear. i went with a medium for a looser fit.
these jeans had me throwing out all the heart eyes – i just loved the contrasting indigo tuxedo stripe on them! i tried these on in a 2 (what i normally wear in express and american eagle jeans) and i could have gone down to a 0 in this fit. they are high-waisted and uber-stretchy.
i’ve never met a statement sleeve i didn’t like and this tee is no exception! its super soft and also comes in a blue and white stripe version. perfect for weekend wear too! wearing a S in this. these jeans remind me of my fave express pair but at a fraction of the price! i went with a 0 in these and they fit perfectly – very stretchy and high-waisted like the pair above!
i know, you’re probably sitting there with your head tilted, like “yellow, jill??” i know, its not my typical color, but this mustard hue pulled me in! off the shoulder is still in and i love the little ties at each sleeve. supercute when paired with these gray jeans and would look fab with simple cutoffs as well! wearing an XS in this.
plaid for the win, always. loving this blue plaid – its lightweight and has a slightly boxy fit. i’m wearing a S here. literally will go with anything and available in multiple colors.
i loved this top on the hanger, but unfortunately wasn’t really feeling the way it fit me. if you’re busty, i just don’t think it does much for the chestular area. otherwise, i would have loved it! wearing an XS here. these jeans however… they were my fave pair from the collection and they’re under $30! less stretch than the two previous pairs of jeggings – these are considered a straight leg jean. they are also high-waisted and have a tulip hem which will be big for spring plus your typical distressing. i mean, do you even own jeans anymore that aren’t distressed at all?? i don’t. issues, i know. wearing a 0 in these.
huge fan of denim on denim over here and this is how you do it – two completely different washes combined! this top is super cute – would look fab paired with any color bottom! i’m wearing an XS here and just totally loving this top!
i don’t know about you, but i LIVE in t-shirt dresses in the spring and summer. they are just SO easy! totally loving this one – seen here in an XS – its soft, fits just right and is not see through one bit! this one also comes in olive green for under $20 – score! there’s a sleeveless version too which i will be grabbing as well! these are the best to just throw on and go and can be dressed up for work with a simple jacket on top like you can see below!
have i sold you on this jacket yet or what?!!
so there’s my fitting room diaries for universal thread! there are a few other items i was really loving, they just didn’t have my size in store, but i’m linking them all here for you!
