LOFT Fitting Room Diaries / February 2019

You may be thinking to yourself, LOFT again?!! Well, LOFT is always getting new stuff in store BUT I’m also superexcited to be hosting a fun event at my local LOFT store this Saturday so I popped in for a quick try-on sesh while grabbing an outfit for the event! If you are local, be sure to pop in to the LOFT store in the Promenade from 10-12 this Saturday and say hello!

As I shared in my Instastory yesterday, I was kind of a mess yesterday and not as prepared for this Fitting Room Diaries as I normally am. I usually wear a nude, strapless bra for any white and/or off the shoulder tops, a basic pair of jeans and a neutral ankle bootie. Well yesterday, I had on a black bra, some Uber-distressed mom jeans and black studded booties. NOT PREPARED. So you will not see any white shirts and the black studded booties are in every look even though they don’t go well bc it was those or snowflake-printed socks sooooo… you get it. Forgive me, k?

Ok, I’m done blabbering now, let’s get to the LOFT Fitting Room Diaries!

I love a good, slouchy dolman tee and this one is a great pick! I’m wearing a small in this one, but I would size up one for a looser fit to be honest – they just didn’t have a medium left in my store! This comes in a couple colors and its so soft! It looks really cute with a front tuck (below) or you could totally tuck it in with some high-waisted bottoms!

LOFT is jumping on the straight leg jean trend and this pair was supercute! I mentioned on Instagram the other day how I’m really feelin’ the lighter wash denim lately so this pair was right up my alley! I love the subtle distressing on these and their ankle length. As a gal whose denim collection is 99.5% ripped, these are a great alternative as they still have a raw hem and a small spot of very light distressing! I’m wearing a 26 in these, however they were gapping in the waist so I would size down to a 25!

you gals know how much I love me some leopard – its probably my favorite of all the prints! I had tried these pants on in a previous Fitting Room Diaries and didn’t take the plunge then HOWEVER these are now on sale for $12.88 so I just HAD to grab them! I love how fun these pants are and they can easily be calmed down with simple neutrals! I’m wearing a 25 in these for size reference.

speaking of pairing these fun leopard pants with neutrals, this simple black shirttail blouse was a no brainer! what I like about this top is you can dress it up or down so easily, it comes in multiple colors AND its on sale for $29.50! Can I get a woot woot?!! WOOT WOOT! I’m wearing a small in this top for a flowy fit. Seriously, wear this casual with some ripped jeans on the weekend, with some faux leather leggings for date night or with a slim pencil skirt or pants for the office! So. Freakin. Good.

I love me a good wrap top, I just think they flatter every body, creating feminine curves! Add in chambray and this gal is all about it! While I loved this top on the rack, I’m a little too busty for it! as of lately, the wrap tops I’ve tried included a modesty snap at the bust, but this one does not. I would HIGHLY recommend this top for a less busty gal, but for me, its way too much boobs. I’m wearing a Small in this top for reference.

These jeans on the other hand are supercute! High-waisted, stretch, buttons along the ankle and the darkest, inkiest blue – you can’t go wrong! I’m wearing a 25 in these jeans and the fit is perfect!

STYLE TIP: denim on denim is such a fun trend, however you need to be careful with it. my friend Kate asked me the other day the best way to make it work and I recommend different washes of denim – I actually prefer lighter denim on top, darker on the bottom. when the washes are too close in color, then you risk the “Canadian tuxedo” look which nobody wants to wear!

you may be thinking to yourself, ‘gal, its almost spring, why the sweater??’ well, its still FREEZING here in NJ (and all of the northeast), so this one is for my gals still stuck in these winter temps! I would love to share all the spring clothes with you, but its too cold and I’m too pale so you’ll have to wait a little longer for those!

Ok anyways, this sweater. I love black. I love tan. I really love stripes. SO a black and tan striped sweater was required. This one is a cozy, nubby knit, but not itchy at all! I love how you could literally wear anything on the bottom of these – distressed jeans, white jeans, faux leather leggings, anything! I’m wearing a Small in this sweater and the fit is great!

if you’ve been following me for awhile, you know I love oversized, tunic, poncho-esque sweaters so I quickly grabbed this one! Its so soft, lightweight and has a cute little mock neck. It drapes so nicely and its just a top that I would wear daily. I’m wearing an XS in this sweater and it also comes in a pretty lavender color if you’re adventurous with color unlike me haha!
