It’s about that time! Another Fitting Room Diaries!
H&M can be a difficult place to do a Fitting Room Diaries bc there is SO MUCH that I like, but you don’t need a 30+ outfit try-on, am I right?!! So for this week, I decided to grab items that you can mix and match with each other…. a capsule wardrobe! You can take any top and any bottom here and pair them up – this cardi will work with everything as well!
Best Part: Everything here is under $50 – woot woot!!
Before we proceed, my usual sizing for reference:
I’m 5’3″, weigh about 130lbs and am a 34D.
I usually wear an XS/S in tops and dresses and a 0-2/26 in bottoms however I normally do a 6 in H&M’s bottoms.
black blouse + straight leg jeans
A black blouse is essential in your fall wardrobe. I love the balloon sleeves on this one – it just adds a little something! I grabbed a 6 in this blouse (my usual size in H&M) and the fit is great – loose but not too much. I like blouses like this bc you can pair them with these black jeans for an everyday casual look like you see here, with the wide leg jeans for an elevated, on trend casual look, dress them up for work with the plaid pants or date night with the faux leather pants or the wrap skirt. SO many possibilities with this blouse!
I have a few pairs of jeans from H&M and they’ve lasted me for years. This distressed pair is an H&M score actually! Anyways, I love high-waisted straight leg styles bc they can be so chic without being skin tight. They look cute with sneakers, heels or boots so naturally you can dress them up or down! I’m wearing a 6 in this pair and the fit is great!

See how you can so easily change the look of basics with one piece?!! I love me some leopard clearly so this pairing was a no brainer! Unfortunately, its sold out online, but they had a few in my store. I’m wearing a XS in this cardigan and the fit is perfect! Its a thick, jacquard material so it’ll def keep you warm!
crewneck sweater + faux leather trousers
As I mentioned in my Fall Trends post last week, leather separates are HUGE this season and you’ll be seeing faux leather trousers everywhere. While this pair isn’t available online, the pair I really wanted is – they just didn’t have my size in store! For those slightly terrified of these pants, wear them like you would a pair of jeans! With the graphic tee, with the blouse, with a sweater like you see here… they’ll go with anything! I’m wearing a 6 in these pants and the fit is great! I love that they have a straight leg as it gives them more versatility in styling!
This crewneck sweater is a fall wardrobe essential as well and it can be paired with every bottom seen here! This one is soft, cut well and under $20! It comes in a few colors, but I love me a good gray sweater – I’m wearing a Small here.

Another casual look with this sweater! I also told you in my Fall Trends post that wide leg cropped jeans are a thing this fall and here they are again! This combo can be dressed up or down based on your accessories so definitely a great combo to have in your wardrobe! crewneck sweater + plaid pants
Plaid for fall? Groundbreaking. I could not resist these slim plaid trousers – they are just too cute on, am I right?!! I love these for work or weekend – you can definitely wear this outfit as is for the office with a pretty necklace or add a moto jacket, white booties and some sparkly earrings for a night out! I am wearing a 6 in these pants and they fit great with a little bit of stretch.
Switching these pants up a bit with a graphic tee! Would you have thought to put these two together?! I almost didn’t! I love it tho and it would look really cute with a moto jacket or jean jacket on top! The leopard cardigan would also work if you like pattern mixing like me! I grabbed a Small in this graphic tee and its loose enough to knot if that’s your thing, but I did a simple front tuck here! PS: the tee is under $10 – woot woot!

Bet you didn’t see this one coming! I like to get a little girly sometimes and this pleated satin wrap midi skirt totally caught my eye! It also comes in leopard online bc you KNOW I totally would’ve grabbed it if I saw it in the store – moral of the story: it pays to shop online! Anyways, I loved this pairing and would definitely add my moto jacket, leopard booties and sparkly earrings for a night out in this outfit! I’m wearing a 6 in this skirt and the fit is perfect!

I always see these uber-chic bloggers wearing something like this is muted neutral tones so I gave it a go and I don’t hate it! I would pair this with some strappy heels, a statement earring and simple clutch for a dressy night out or holiday party outfit! I thinks its just so chic and very nyc, right?!! I did a Small in this sweater and will be wearing this all fall and winter long! Its just SO cozy and will work with any bottom seen here!

Just to give you an idea of this sweater dressed down, check it out with these jeans! I would wear it with mules like I have here and a cute tote for running errands on the weekend!
