Another Friday, Another Fitting Room Diaries!
We had some cooler temps this week so I decided to stop in my local LOFT store and go full on fall! I am READY y’all! Ready for fall fashion that is, not the super cold temps tho. There is no lack of leopard in LOFT right now along with SO many on trend pieces AND you can get 40% OFF your purchase (including Lou & Grey!) with code NEWNOW until Sunday, so here’s my try-on sesh to help with some fall outfit inspo to fill your cart with!
**I apologize in advance for the mostly barefoot pics! I did not think ahead of time and wore sneakers into the store!**
Before we proceed, my usual sizing for reference:
I’m 5’3″, weigh about 130lbs and am a 34D.
I usually wear an XS/S in tops and dresses and a 0-2/26 in bottoms.
My nephew is being baptized this fall and I found the perfect dress for it! This dress has such a simple silhouette, but add a tie waist and pockets and the whole look is elevated! This rich burgundy hue is always a fall staple and one color that I actually do wear in the fall and winter. I will wear this with my fave nude heels (worth every penny – have had these for years!) and some pretty statement earrings! It zips up the back, has cute cap sleeves and the fabric is not stiff at all. I’m wearing a 0 in this dress and the fit is perfect – not tight or clingy and not too short!

A leopard blouse bc….. duh! Has there been one Fitting Room Diaries without leopard yet? This blouse is perfect bc you can totally dress it up or down. Its a regular width/silhouette – meaning its not boxy or fitted – and it buttons behind the neck. It has some supercute puff sleeves and would look adorable with some black skinnies for date night or a pencil skirt for work! I’m wearing a Small in this top.

Now these jeans… you will be seeing wide leg cropped jeans legit everywhere this fall. No, skinny jeans are NOT going away, nor are “mom jeans” but wide leg cropped jeans are coming in hot! These are very comfy with some stretch and the “sailor” buttons are all functional. They’re high-waisted and the 25 fit well – not too tight at all!

I added a plaid blazer to this for a fun, fashion-y look and I am here for it! Plaid blazers are another HUGE trend this fall and this one is knit so its supersoft and not stiff. I grabbed a 2 in this blazer and pushed the sleeves up to show off my arm party (details below). I love mixing prints and these two together is perfection for fall! I would add some studded heels to this look as well as a metallic clutch (its on sale!) and a sparkly necklace.

Ok, let’s start with this vest. Faux fur/shearling is always a cold weather fave so LOFT not only made this reversible vest in black, but also ivory, blush and charcoal. I went for my fave black and its too cute! Its sueded on one side and faux fur on the other and the foldover collar adds great detail. I’m in a XS here and had plenty of room in it with this blouse underneath.

I love a good cream colored blouse and this one just might be it for fall! I don’t usually do button-down shirts since I’m busty and they usually gap on me so this is a great alternative. I did a Small in this blouse and the fit is perfect – it would look great with a little front tuck too! I especially love the cuff detail on this one – it just adds a little something to a simple blouse!

Lastly, these jeans. I live for black skinny jeans – they just go with everything! This pair has a mid-rise and fit like a glove (I’m in a 25). What I love most about this pair is the tuxedo stripe – they call it “shadow stripe” – and the raw hem. If my jeans aren’t going to have holes in them, then they need a raw hem. Oh, also! These jeans have “slim pockets” which means they have shorter pockets in the front so you don’t get them bunching up like some do. Not a huge deal to be honest, but just something I thought to note for you!

If you’ve been following me for awhile, then you know I looooove ponchos in the fall! They’re just so comfy and flowy and hide all the food I eat when the temps start dropping… Anyways, I actually own this one in cream from last fall, but apparently it was such a hit that they brought it back this year! Its soft and has little flecks in it and a wide, boxy fit. Don’t worry, the side vents make it cute on everyone – it just drapes really well! I’m wearing a XS in this one.

I paired it with these light wash jeans and pretty much made the best weekend outfit ever, am I right?! I would wear this while running errands, to the boys’ games, everywhere! These jeans are also mid-rise with those “slim pockets” and have a raw hem too! They fit like a glove so I don’t recommend sizing up in these – i’m usually a 25 in LOFT jeans and a 0-2/26 in all other jeans if that’s helpful!

This sweater obviously came home with me. I mean, I will pretty much be living in outfits like this all fall long. I love a poncho sweater (see above) and camel will be on repeat in my fall wardrobe so this one was a no brainer. Its soft and has that wide, boxy-cut with side vents so it drapes really well and just looks super stinkin’ cute on! It comes in a few other colors and I’m in a XS/S.

Leather leggings are still a thing so I had to try on the LOFT version. They have a scuba fit to them – legit suction on to your legs. The XS fit pretty snug, but the Small were too big for me. Honestly, I’d rather the Spanx pair over these – definitely worth the extra money!

More leopard, of course! This v-neck sweater has a tamer leopard print and would be perfect for work or weekend. It covers your butt so its great with leggings, but you could easily wear it with jeans or dress pants. I’m wearing a Small here and the fit is perfect, but you could size up for an oversized look as well.
