Here we go, another Fitting Room Diaries!
Fall is here and has me craving ALL the fall fashion and when I hit my local Target store this week, I had loads and loads of clothes in my cart. I had a moment where I looked at myself in the mirror and was like GAL, you CANNOT try on all of these clothes AND you CANNOT buy all of these clothes – you NEED to scale it back. So I thought about all of the things I’m loving for fall and weeded out what didn’t fit.
Black, Camel, Gray, Leopard, Leather, Plaid, Stripes, Snakeskin…
Those are what I’m filling my closet with this fall SO if I pick something up that doesn’t fall on that list, well out the cart it goes! We can get SO out of hand sometimes when it comes to shopping that I’m realizing that setting parameters about what I want my wardrobe to look like is helpful in curbing any unnecessary purchases bc I am 100% THAT GAL (you thought I was about to go Lizzo on you, huh?) who will buy ALL the THINGS and then never wear them! So this fall, I’m definitely doing my best to not go all nuts in the stores!
Ok, enough rambling for now, let’s get to the try-on!
Before we proceed, my usual sizing for reference:
I’m 5’3″, weigh about 130lbs and am a 34D.
I usually wear an XS/S in tops and dresses and a 0-2/26 in bottoms.
If you’ve been here for awhile, you know I love me a good jumpsuit so clearly, I had to kick this try-on sesh off with one! This one is only $30 and totally worth adding to your wardrobe! Its a classic cut, can be worn year round, has an elastic waistband (hollllla!) and there are just SO many possibilities here guys! I wore it to a wedding rehearsal dinner with my fave nude strappy heels, this leopard clutch and these statement earrings – it was simple and chic with a little edge AKA my ideal look! I grabbed a Small in this one and the fit is perfect! I highly recommend snagging this jumpsuit!!
I get many requests for affordable faux leather moto jackets and my go-to is this one, however if you’re looking for an under $50 option, This.Is.It! I personally would remove the belt bc its annoying but otherwise, its everything you need in a moto jacket – and I love it over this jumpsuit! I grabbed a Medium in this moto jacket bc I like having some room in my jackets for sweaters and such! All in all, a total score AND you can get it even cheaper right now bc the whole Wild Fable line is Buy One, Get One 50% Off! Woot woot!
You know when you see something online and the pictures do it ZERO justice? Well, thats the case with this top! Gals, its SO freakin cute! I personally would wear it buttoned up like I did here and not as an open cardigan – you lose its cute silhouette shape that way! Its a slim cut, has the most adorable puff sleeves and its really soft too! I have a small on here, but could have done an XS as well! Super.Stinkin.Cute. y’all!
These jeans are from the Wild Fable line (so they’re BOGO 50% Off!) and they fit supercute! I’m in a 0 and they’re great! They call these “Mom Jeans” but they’re a slim-cut mom jean for sure. Oh yeah, they’re high-waisted, duh! You know I am not about those low rise jeans anymore.
Lastly, these ankle boots will be mine… I just didn’t grab em this time! I love their brown color and as you can see, they pair with black SO well! I went up a 1/2 size in these and they fit great! They have a small block heel and are super comfy! ps: they also come in black!

Leather will be a HUGE trend this fall! You’re probably thinking, DUH Jill! Leather jackets are always in style – well this year, think leather everything! You’ll see your typical leather jackets, pants and skirts, but you’ll also see leather tops and dresses all.over.the.place. (Also expect to see a lot of leather in fall hues) Well this gal will be rockin’ as much (faux) leather as possible including this top! How freakin’ cute is this?!!! The puff sleeves, the button-down back… I’m all about those details gals! This one also comes in a rust color, but I love me some black so I’m sticking with it! I grabbed a Small in this top and the fit is great! Its not stiff or restricting at all and its very lightweight so you won’t be sweating buckets in it either!
before you even ask: the sweatshirt isn’t available online yet, but as soon as it is, I will update this post with a link to it HERE so you can grab it because LET ME TELL YOU – it is SO soft! Like ridic soft and I loved it! It came in a few other colors, but I went with the white! I love that you can dress up the most simple sweatshirt to get a ton of uses out of it! Wear it with jeans to your kids’ games or wear it with a faux leather mini skirt for a girls night out – I am all about versatility with my wardrobe y’all! I’m wearing a Small in the sweatshirt btw.
Ok, on to this faux leather mini skirt! (see above as to why you need more leather in your wardrobe) Anyways, this skirt is supercute, very lightweight, has an elastic waistband AND pockets! Can I get a Woot Woot?!!! Obsessed! You could definitely get some wear out of this one – I’m thinking an embellished sweater around the holidays?!!! – and guess what? It’s only $20 so you can hit this trend without breaking the bank! I’m wearing a Small in this skirt and had plenty of room PLUS it passes the Catholic school fingertip test!
ok and if you honestly thought we’d make it through this try-on sesh without something leopard, are we even friends?!! I’ve seen this graphic tee on a few bloggers and knew I needed to have it! sadly, they didn’t have my size, but I tried on a medium so you could see it anyways. I would def do your regular size in this tee bc its a wide, boxy cut.
Now this jacket is oversized and cozy and soft and screaming for cooler temps! I did an XS/S in this and to be honest, I think its a little too big for me. That’s coming from the gal who loves her some oversized tops and jackets. Its just a little overwhelming for my frame. I love the idea of this jacket tho and it is pretty cozy if you’re looking for a jacket like this for under $50!
